"I live in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity." - Albert Einstein
"When it becomes more difficult to suffer than to change... you will change." - Dr. Robert Anthony
"Courage is not the absence of fear but the mastery of it. At times courage is needed to rise from failure, to strive again." - Thomas S. Monson
"Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come. You wait and watch and work: you don't give up." - Anne Lamott
I like my showers a tad too hot and useless trivia and Starbucks whipped cream a tad too much. I just finished my undergraduate work in Missouri. During college, I worked as the editor-in-chief of my college newspaper and a business writer and editor.
Chicago is home, and I'm back there now, working on my MA in English.
I ought to consider overcoming my obsessions with punctuality, spelling&grammar, observing people (but only from safe distances), and pondering the next thirty years, but none of those things are in the foreseeable future.
If I were living in a house with three bushes on one side of the front porch and four bushes on the other side, I would lie awake worrying about it until one night, I would run outside and take an ax to the fourth bush. I would probably do this in my underwear, and I would probably show up on the news the next morning. And I probably wouldn't care, as long as that stupid fourth bush was chopped down. Yep, I am that OCD. Yep, I value symmetry that much.
I have a Bachelor's in English, too many cats, and unnaturally red hair. I want a Master's in English, more bookstores, more cats, a reliable income so I can afford useful things like fruit, cheese, chocolate, and sporadic weekend roadtrips, the ability to understand farms and the people on them, stable moods, some self-esteem, and to figure out what I'm doing with my life.
If you happen to be able to help me with any of those things, feel free to comment or friend me.
